“Do not quench the Spirit…” 1Thessalonians 5:19
How can I co-work with the moving of the Holy Spirit? At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit is depicted as being both wind and fire. Jesus said the Spirit blows where He wills. So, to go with the Spirit you need to put up your sails and allow His inward pressure to move you as wind moves a sailboat. If the Spirit is fire, we need to allow that fire to burn in us. The Spirit is always present in a believer’s life but not always burning at full power. It’s a bit like a pilot light on a boiler that allows much more to be ignited as the gas flows.
There is an upward spiral in the life of a believer that says my calling and destiny are empowered by the Spirit. The opposite downward spiral of failure and disappointment comes when I am empowered solely by myself effort.
How do I allow more of the Spirit in my life to work:
Always have a “more Lord” not “less Lord” attitude
Give what you have to the Lord and expect Him to multiply it
Step forward and in, not back and out
Have a yielded “not my will but Yours” attitude
Give Holy Spirit an “access all areas” pass
The more I am overwhelmed in my spirit by the presence of the Holy Spirit the more my soul and body are willing to pay the price of walking in my destiny!
The depth of our possession by the Spirit equates to the quality of our expression of His fruit!
