Stories of Hope
A Reason to Live - Stacey’s Story
Most of my life was marked by chaos and dysfunction, leaving me angry, hostile, and quick to retaliate. Five years ago, I began attending community events at St Mark’s Church, Westhill. I watched from the edges, unable to join in because I was carrying too much pain. I had heard of Jesus, but I could’t understand why, if he was real, He would let me suffer.
At the time, I was in a violent relationship. Two of my three children lived with their father, and I felt trapped. When I became pregnant with my son Teddy, born prematurely at 29 weeks, I cried out to Jesus for his survival. But when Teddy died suddenly at two months old, I was devastated-made worse by accusations that I was somehow responsible.
Yet even in my brokenness, Jesus met me. On January 22nd, I walked into The Hub Church and found a God who loved me and began healing me from the inside out, He gave me peace, purpose, and a reason to live.
On December 18th, 2024, the day before Teddy’s anniversary, I was baptised, God whispered, ‘A new dawn is breaking.’ Today, through His love, I live with hope.
